At this initial appointment, the Physiotherapist or Athletic Therapist will meet with the individual to conduct a focused musculoskeletal assessment, including structural integrity, range of motion, and strength. A rehabilitation plan will be developed and treatment recommendations will be made on the basis of this objective data.

Upper Extremity/Stroke Rehab

Custom orthotics stabilize foot alignment and relieve high-pressure areas which reduces symptoms associated with common injuries. Orthotics, in conjunction with other treatments, speed recovery.

Hand Therapy

Our skilled OTs treat injuries to the hand, wrist, elbow, and shoulder, including carpal tunnel syndrome, fractures, tendon and nerve repairs, soft tissue injuries, and complicated wounds. Treatments include joint and soft tissues mobilizations, scar and wound care, joint protection and ergonomic education, as well as prescription of stretching, range of motion, and strengthening exercises.

Splinting

Our experienced OTs fit clients for silver ring splints to reduce pain, and increase function by immobilization and protection of the joint to prevent hyperextension or by supporting a stabilized increase in range of motion.

Our experienced OTs fit clients for silver ring splints to reduce pain, and increase function by immobilization and protection of the joint to prevent hyperextension or by supporting a stabilized increase in range of motion. These splints are more functional and more durable than plastic variants.

Pressure Management

Our experienced OTs are skilled in the prevention and treatment of pressure ulcers, using pressure mapping for pressure relief interventions, transfer training, and client education on weight shifting and skin care.

Manual Therapy

This clinical treatment involves manipulation, mobilization or massage of soft tissues and joint structures to reduce pain and increase range of motion. This treatment is performed by a trained Athletic Therapist or Physiotherapist.

Kinesio and Sport Taping

This therapeutic technique is used to give support and stability to joints and muscles to reduce pain and inflammation without restricting range of motion. This treatment is performed by a trained Athletic Therapist.

Exercise Prescription and Rehab

Our physical therapists develop individualized, goal-oriented exercise plans which are designed to increase strength, endurance, proprioception, and range of motion, promote weight loss, and/or correct biomechanical deficiencies.

Acupuncture

This proven pain relief technique is used in conjunction with other treatment modalities.
